California is home to the highest concentration of biotechnology companies in the country and our program works synergistically with this great resource. UCSB’s Biotechnology and Bioengineering Outreach Program provides students, researchers and faculty first-hand insight into the realm of industrial Biotechnology, Biomolecular Science and Bioengineering and reciprocally brings industry representatives on campus for close interactions with our students and research teams. Our program includes cutting-edge courses in Biomolecular and Bioengineering Technologies, Industries and Management. These courses invite scientists and founders of biotech and bioengineering companies to teach, share the perspectives of industry, and help design curricula. Our formal internship program offers exceptional students the opportunity to work in some of the best and most innovative biotechnology and bioengineering companies in the world.
